Registre foncier du Québec en ligne
by Gouvernement du Québec — Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts · Data service · also known as Québec Land Register, Registre foncier du Québec, SIRF
Official online access to Québec's land register: index of immovables, registered deeds and rights by lot number, run by the provincial government
Overview
The Registre foncier du Québec en ligne is the Gouvernement du Québec's web service for consulting the provincial land register, administered by the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts. The register has recorded real estate transactions since 1841 and is the authoritative public record of ownership, servitudes, hypothecs and other rights on each cadastral lot. Online users search by lot number (an interactive map helps locate it), read the index of immovables for a lot and open scanned or electronic deeds; notaries and lawyers also file registration requests through the same portal. Consultation is fee-based per document and requires a client account, with payment per consultation. The interface is in French only, documents are images rather than structured data, there is no bulk download or public API, and the service is not intended for mass extraction, so researchers typically use it for targeted title and transaction verification rather than dataset construction.
Editorial note on uncertainty. Fee structure and account requirements are described from the service portal in general terms; current fee schedule was not reviewed.
