Consensus
by Consensus · Platform · also known as Consensus AI, consensus.app
AI search engine over peer-reviewed literature that synthesizes answers, shows a Consensus Meter for yes/no questions and summarizes studies
Overview
Consensus is a hosted search engine for scientific literature that answers natural-language questions with synthesized text grounded in peer-reviewed papers. Its distinctive features are the Consensus Meter, which displays the balance of findings for yes/no questions, Study Snapshots that summarize methods and results, Pro Search and Deep Search modes for more thorough synthesis, an "Ask Paper" chat for single documents, collections, a citation graph view, and export of references in RIS, BibTeX and CSV.
The product is free to start with paid individual plans on monthly or annual billing and team, organization and university offerings; the public pages do not name the bibliographic sources it indexes.
Because answers are generated by language models over abstracts and full texts, the meter and summaries are a triage aid and the underlying papers should still be read before citing.
Editorial note on uncertainty. The pricing page renders plan details client-side; only the individual/team/enterprise structure and monthly/annual billing could be confirmed.
