Raycast
by Raycast Technologies Ltd · Application
Extensible launcher for macOS (with Windows and iOS versions) combining app search, clipboard history, snippets, window management and a store of community extensions
Overview
Raycast is a keyboard-driven launcher for macOS from Raycast Technologies, with newer Windows and iOS clients. A single hotkey opens a command bar for launching apps, searching files, running calculations, managing windows, expanding snippets and recalling clipboard history. Its distinguishing feature is the extension platform: thousands of community extensions, written in TypeScript and React against a documented API and published through a public GitHub repository, add integrations for developer tools, project trackers, notes, music and web services.
The core app is free. A paid Pro tier adds Raycast AI (chat and inline commands with a choice of hosted models or your own API keys), cloud sync of settings, unlimited clipboard history, custom themes and other extras; Teams and Enterprise plans add shared commands, a private extension store and administrative controls.
Raycast is proprietary, although the extension catalog is open source. Its AI features depend on cloud providers, and the Windows client is younger than the macOS one.
