EViews
by S&P Global (EViews) · Application · also known as Econometric Views
Commercial Windows econometrics package for time-series estimation, forecasting and macro modelling, sold as single-user, volume, University and free Student Lite editions
Overview
EViews is a commercial econometrics package, now published under S&P Global, oriented to time-series analysis, forecasting and structural macroeconomic modelling. Its object-oriented interface organizes series, equations, VARs, models and graphs in workfiles, and a command language supports batch programs. EViews 14 is the current release; headline additions include JDemetra+ seasonal adjustment, Prophet forecasting, quantile ARDL, MIDAS GARCH, elastic-net enhancements, outlier detection, the boosted Hodrick-Prescott filter, trend and break tests, bubble tests and local-projection impulse responses, alongside long-standing strengths in VAR/VECM, state-space and panel estimation and database connectivity.
EViews 14 unified the former Standard and Enterprise commercial licences into one product; licensing is per single user (commercial or academic pricing), commercial and academic volume licences, a subscription University Edition and a free Student Version Lite with usage limits. The software is Windows-native, so macOS users run it in a virtual machine. It is common in central banks, forecasting shops and economics teaching, less so in research that favours scripting-first environments.
Editorial note on uncertainty. Integration list reflects widely documented EViews connectors; specific provider links were not individually re-verified. The site footer credits S&P Global.

Alternatives & comparison
Stata covers broader microeconometrics with cross-platform support; gretl is a free, open-source GUI package with similar time-series focus; R and Python's statsmodels/arch are scripting-based open-source alternatives.
